State Lead Paint Law

Conn. Gen. Stat. § 8.219e; Provides government loans to persons seeking to remove lead-based paint-up to two-thirds the cost of abatement

Conn. Gen. Star. §§ 19a-111-1 to 19a-111-11; Owners of dwellings with reported high blood-lead levels in occupants under six are required to abate the lead hazard. An owner may be responsible for relocating residents.

Conn. Gen. Stat. § 21a-82; Forbids the use of lead-based paint in tenements or municipally-owned buildings unless it adheres to state and federal regulations.

Conn. Gen. Stat. § 47a-8; Deems a residential property "unfit" if paint does not adhere to federal standards or is cracked, chipped, blistered, flaking, loose or peeling.
